IPL is organized every year by the BCCI & all rights of IPL are reserved with the same. BCCI has decided to organize all IPL matches in Maharashtra to save air travel. All matches will be played only in the Wankhede, Brabourne, & DY Patil Stadium located in the state of Maharashtra itself. So 55 matches of IPL alone are hosted by Mumbai and the remaining 15 matches by Pune (DY Patil Stadium). This is happening for the first time in the history of IPL. - This year, Tata Group has decided to sponsor the IPL, sacking that the Chinese mobile manufacturing company Vivo & domestic giant sponsor for IPL 2022 & 2023 editions.
- For the first time after Corona, IPL is organized within its time frame.
- This year, all matches of the IPL will be played only in 3 stadiums in the Maharashtra state, i.e., Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium & DY Patil Stadium.
- This year, two new teams are playing in the IPL; Lucknow Supergiants & Gujarat Titans. So now, the total number of teams in the IPL has increased to 10.
- In IPL, the number of groups will remain the same; rather, teams have increased from 4 to 5.
- Due to Covid, all players have to follow the Bio Bubble rule. However, coronavirus cases are drastically reduced, but the disease is still prevalent after the Deltacron variant appeared in China.
