Technoblade’s father announced his death by making a YouTube video titled “So Long Nerds”. This video has been viewed nearly seven million times so far. In this video the Technoblade’s father reads an emotional letter written in the same style, i.e., as a voice-over on the game’s clip, just like the YouTuber used to. In the letter the YouTuber talks about how he wants to have one last chat with his audience and how his real name is Alex, not Dave.
Furthermore, Technoblade expressed its gratitude to all its subscribers, channel members and those who bought its merchandise. His father explained how Technoblade wanted to shoot a final video for his audience, but could not. Despite being diagnosed with cancer, the YouTuber posted six videos in the past 10 months, revealing how much he loved making videos and playing Minecraft. Currently, Technoblade’s YouTube channel has over 10 million subscribers.
