Vivo T2 5G First Impression 4500mAh Battery 8GB RAM 64MP Camera

Vivo T2 5G is now available in India and is priced under Rs 20,000 for the base variant. Definitely, the smartphone will have to face fierce competition in this price range. Compared to the Vivo T1 5G, the new smartphone brings a few upgrades, including better camera setup, faster charging, compact design, and lighter weight. However, the new smartphone comes with the same chipset as last year’s model and a smaller battery capacity.

The body of Vivo T2 5G is made of polycarbonate. The smartphone weighs 172 grams, which is 10 grams less than the Vivo T1. At the same time, its thickness is also less than the previous model, 7.8mm. The frame is flat and the edges are slightly rounded, giving a slightly better in-hand feel. The smartphone comes in two color options and the company has sent us the Nitro Blaze variant of the Vivo T2 5G for review, which comes with a glossy finish. Its special thing is that the back panel changes shades from blue to orange when light falls on it at different angles. Unique gradient pattern is given on the panel. At the same time, you also have a Velocity Wave color option, which comes in a golden shade.

The Vivo T2 5G sports a single speaker at the bottom, which is loud for a small room, but doesn’t work well in larger rooms or outdoors. Along with this, a USB Type-C port is available at the bottom and the good thing is that the phone comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The right side of the phone includes the power and volume buttons, which are easy to reach when using it with one hand. On the top frame, there’s a hybrid-SIM slot that supports dual SIM or single SIM with expandable storage via a microSD card.

Vivo T2 5G flaunts a 6.38-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400-pixel resolution. The screen supports 90Hz refresh rate and Vivo claims it offers 360Hz touch sampling rate and 1300 nits peak brightness. The top center of the display includes a small waterdrop style notch, which makes the phone look a bit outdated in today’s times. The top and side bezels are thick on average and the chin is also quite thick compared to affordable smartphones nowadays. The smartphone gets an in-display fingerprint scanner and also includes face recognition.

The Vivo T2 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, which we have seen in several smartphones launched last year, such as the Vivo T1 5G, iQOO Z6 5G, OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, etc. However, to know how the T2 5G performs with Funtouch OS 13 software based on Android 13, we will have to test it thoroughly.

The smartphone gets a dual-camera setup, which is housed in two large ring-shaped modules. The setup includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) support and a 2-megapixel bokeh sensor. The phone has a 16-megapixel front camera for selfie and video calling etc. We will share our detailed test and experience of these cameras present on Vivo T2 5G in our full review.

The phone has a 4,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. Here Vivo has given a nice upgrade in the charging speed compared to the T1 5G, but has reduced the battery capacity a bit. Vivo T1 5G gets 5000mAh battery. Vivo claims that the phone can be charged from zero to 50 percent in 25 minutes.

Vivo T2 5G has been launched in two storage options. The base variant offers 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which costs Rs 18,999 and the top model includes 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, which costs Rs 20,999. We have got 6GB RAM variant for review. Compared to Vivo T1 5G, the company has tried to give a good experience in the new model or should you look at many other smartphones in this price segment, wait for our full review and get answers to these questions from Gadgets 360 Stay Connected.
