English club Manchester City won the prestigious FA Cup title for the seventh time. He defeated arch-rivals Manchester United 2–1 in a match played at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday (June 3). City’s team has become the champion after 2019. Captain Elkay Gundoan scored two goals in the final match for him. Captain Bruno Fernandes scored the only goal for United from a penalty.
Elkay Gundoan started the match in a tremendous way. He scored in the 12th second of the match. It is the fastest goal scored in FA Cup final history. Gundoan broke Lewis Saha’s record from Frank in this matter. Saha scored for Everton in the 25th second against Chelsea in 2009. However, his team had to face defeat then. Chelsea beat Everton 2–1 thanks to goals from Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.
City have a chance to win the treble
Manchester City’s team is now just one step away from winning three trophies (treble) in the season. He has won the Premier League as well as the FA Cup this season. City will now face Inter Milan in the Champions League final next week to complete the treble. If it is successful in defeating Inter Milan, it will equal Manchester United’s special record. United won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup in the 1998/99 season.
83 thousand spectators watched the final match
83,000 spectators attended the match at Wembley Stadium. City captain Elkay Gundoan said after the match: “Everyone knows that the FA Cup is the most beautiful domestic club competition in the world, so it’s wonderful for us to win this trophy again and complete the double.” We have a chance to do something special and win the treble. We don’t want to let this opportunity pass us by.”
