Grandson of Milkha Singh and son of golfer Jeev Milkha Singh, 13-year-old Harjay Milkha Singh has started showing his hand at golf. Harjay has won the Under-13 US Kids European Championship title. He carded a three-under 69 to win the title at the Royal Masalbara Golf Club. He made seven birdies against four bogeys.
It was a good week not only for Harjay but for other Indian golfers. Nihal Cheema of Chandigarh finished second in the Under-7 category at the Longnidri Golf Club. Gurgaon’s golfer Mehreen Bhatia finished second in the under-13-14 category. Harjay’s father Jeev Milkha Singh has won the prestigious Scottish Open 2012 in Scotland.
Harjay’s grandfather Milkha Singh won the country’s first athletics gold medal at the 1958 Commonwealth Games in Cardiff (Wales). Jeev Milkha Singh has won many European, Japan and Asian tours. Harjay defeated Jordan Botha with a two shot lead.
