The Indian women’s hockey team captain and goalkeeper Savita will take on Australia in their own country on Thursday. The Indian team has reached Adelaide four days before playing a five-match series for the preparations for the Asian Games.
The Hangzhou Asian Games to be held from September 23 this year are important for the Indian team. If you win gold here, you will get a ticket to the Paris Olympics. The world ranking of the Indian team is eight and Australia is currently world number three. India will play Australia A on May 18, 20 and 21, while they will face Australia A on May 25 and 27. India defeated Australia 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the Tokyo Olympics. Savita says that the team is practicing here every day in daylight and floodlights, which will give a chance to get used to the turf and the environment here.
