Serbia’s veteran tennis player Novak Djokovic won the third round of the Italian Open. Djokovic, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, came back from a second set down to beat Grigor Dimitrov 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 to reach the fourth round. Djokovic’s early exits in the last two tournaments means he will once again lose the number one ranking to Carlos Alcarez after this tournament.
Djokovic will now face 13th seed Cameron Norrie, who beat Marton Fuskovic 6-2, 7-6. In the women’s section, two-time champion Inga Swiatek defeated Lesia Tsurenko 6-2, 6-0. In the last match, she defeated Anastasia P 6-0, 6-0. She will next face 21st seed Donna Vekich, who defeated 16th seed Lyudmila Samsonova 2-6, 7-6, 6-2.
