ipl 2022 schedule time table

IPL is one of the most expensive & exciting cricket leagues globally. Unfortunately, last year’s IPL was held at a neutral venue (United Arab Emirates) due to the second wave of Corona. The league has become even more exciting, with two more teams in the IPL this year. Each team will play twice against the different teams in its group stage, where 5 teams are held in each group.

IPL is organized every year by the BCCI & all rights of IPL are reserved with the same. BCCI has decided to organize all IPL matches in Maharashtra to save air travel. All matches will be played only in the Wankhede, Brabourne, & DY Patil Stadium located in the state of Maharashtra itself. So 55 matches of IPL alone are hosted by Mumbai and the remaining 15 matches by Pune (DY Patil Stadium). This is happening for the first time in the history of IPL. All matches of the league will be organized by 3 stadiums alone.

IPL 2022 Points Table

The Points Tally of IPL varies with each match. No one can predict which team will win the next match in the Indian Premier League because all the teams are as strong as the other team. The first season of the Indian Premier League was played in 2008, which was won under the captaincy of Australia’s legendary cricketer Shane Warne, who passed away recently. Mumbai Indians & Chennai Super Kings have won the IPL titles five times. Although last year’s IPL title was in the name of Chennai Super Kings, most matches were won by Delhi Capitals & thus, they finished first in the points table. Mumbai Indians, who were the runner-up in last year’s IPL, ranked 5. In the below table, we are providing the 2021 points table

Major Changes in IPL 2022

The BCCI has changed some rules of the IPL this year. You will also get to see IPL in a new color. Given below are some of the rules that will be in effect in IPL this year that all IPL viewers should know –

  1. This year, Tata Group has decided to sponsor the IPL, sacking that the Chinese mobile manufacturing company Vivo & domestic giant sponsor for IPL 2022 & 2023 editions.
  2. For the first time after Corona, IPL is organized within its time frame.
  3. This year, all matches of the IPL will be played only in 3 stadiums in the Maharashtra state, i.e., Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium & DY Patil Stadium.
  4. This year, two new teams are playing in the IPL; Lucknow Supergiants & Gujarat Titans. So now, the total number of teams in the IPL has increased to 10.
  5. In IPL, the number of groups will remain the same; rather, teams have increased from 4 to 5.
  6. Due to Covid, all players have to follow the Bio Bubble rule. However, coronavirus cases are drastically reduced, but the disease is still prevalent after the Deltacron variant appeared in China.
