The battle between Manchester City and Arsenal for the English Premier League (EPL) title is over. Nottingham Forest beat Arsenal 1–0 to end all title hopes. Arsenal needed to win this match to stay in the race for the title, but could not do so.
Title hat-trick in City’s EPL
City’s title was confirmed with Arsenal’s defeat. A team has to play 38 matches in a league season and in this case Arsenal has played 37 matches and has 81 points. At the same time, City have 85 points in 35 matches. He still has three more matches to play while Arsenal have one match left to play. City has won this title for the third time in a row.
Under the guidance of City coach Pep, the team has won the title trophy. City have the chance to clinch another major trophy this season. The team has reached the final of the Champions League. City have become the second team after Manchester United to score a hat-trick of EPL titles. This is City’s fifth EPL trophy in six seasons.
Awoni scored the only goal
Tyvo Awoni opened the scoring for Nottingham Forest in the 19th minute. Arsenal’s goal-scoring strategy then failed, with their strikers unable to break through the Nottingham defence. Arsenal’s team also struggled to score an equaliser.
Avoni joins Forrest’s team from Union Berlin. He has scored five goals in the last three matches. Arsenal have suffered two consecutive defeats for the first time in this season of EPL. Earlier, he was defeated 3–0 by Brighton. Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka had chances to score, but could not take advantage of it.
