Food items tend to spoil quickly in summer. Worms start to infest even fresh vegetables, and if the fridge breaks down at such a time, then there is a bigger problem. Because fridge is the only thing which saves the food from getting spoiled for some time. Now if this gets spoiled, then what will happen to the vegetables and fruits. It must have happened many times with you that the vegetables would have rotted due to the refrigerator being damaged and you would have had to throw them away. Although there is some solution to every problem in the world, just a person should know how to find it.

If your fridge is damaged and you want to save vegetables from spoilage, then definitely follow these tips. 

1. Green vegetables: To save green vegetables from spoilage, the first thing you have to do is to clean them. While cleaning the green vegetables, separate the yellow and dirty leaves and spread the remaining clean leaves on a big plate or newspaper. With this, vegetables will last longer even if they are not refrigerated.

2. Potatoes: To avoid spoilage of potatoes, you should store them with garlic. Due to this it remains good for a long time.

3. Carrots: To prevent the carrot from spoiling, cut off its upper end and then keep it closed in an airtight container.

4. Tomatoes: Use a paper bag or plastic bag to store tomatoes and make holes in it.

5. Ginger: You can use potting soil to prevent ginger from spoiling. Bury ginger in the pot which has soil. This will make ginger last longer.

Apart from this, wrap the rest of the vegetables like capsicum, cucumber, brinjal, tomato and drumstick in a cloth. By doing this, the vegetables will remain fresh for a long time.
