Tokyo Paralympic Games medalist Pramod Bhagat won two gold and a bronze medal in the Bahrain Para Badminton International Tournament in Manama. At the same time, IAS officer Suhas LY won the silver medal in the tournament. Suhas made it to the final after defeating players from South Korea, Brazil, China, Germany and Indonesia. In the gold medal match, he lost to the Malaysian player 21-16, 21-23, 17-21. Prior to this, Suhas had recently won the gold medal at the Thailand Open and won seven straight matches in that tournament. Suhas LY said- I am happy to win the silver medal. I had trained hard for the tournament. Will try to win gold next time. Thank you all for your support.

Pramod’s gold in doubles also

India won 23 medals including three gold, eight silver, 12 bronze in this tournament. Pramod won gold in men’s singles SL3 event. Apart from this, Pramod along with Sukant Kadam also won the yellow medal in men’s doubles SL3-SL4 and won his second gold of the tournament. Apart from them, Nitya and Rachna won gold in women’s doubles SH6.

Apart from Suhas, Nitish Kumar (SL3), Krishna Nagar (SH6) also won silver medals in other men’s singles events. Whereas, Tulasimathi (Women’s Singles, SU5), Prem Kumar (SL3), Nitish Kumar and Tarun Dhillon (SL3-SL4), Chirag and Raj Kumar (SU5), Manasi Joshi and Tulasimathi (Women’s Doubles, SL3-SU5 category) also Got silver.

12 got bronze medal

12 players got bronze medals in the tournament. Manoj Sarkar (SL3), Mandeep Kaur (SL3), Manasi Joshi (SL3), Palak Kohli (SL4), Chirag (SU5), Manisha (SU5), Nithya (SH6), Nithya and Shivrajan (SH6), Pramod Bhagat and Manisha (SL3-SU5), Manoj Sarkar and Deep Ranjan (SL3-S4), Hardik Makkar and Ruthik Raghupathi (SU5), Parul Parmar and Shantiya (SL3-SU5) won bronze medals.
