The wrestlers sitting on the dharna have declared their first victory after the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) invalidated all the office bearers of the Wrestling Federation of India. Bajrang, Vinesh and Sakshi Malik, who are on strike after leveling allegations of sexual harassment against wrestling association president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, on Sunday once again made it clear that even if the office-bearers of the wrestling association were declared invalid But they will continue their fight till they get justice. Their last demand is the arrest of Brij Bhushan.
IOA had banned on Friday
On Friday, the IOA had not only banned all the office bearers of the wrestling association from working, but also sought the logins of the federation’s accounts and entries. Although the wrestlers said on Sunday that the wrestling association has been dissolved, the Sports Ministry has clarified that the wrestling association has not been dissolved, but all its office bearers have been suspended by the IOA.
Arrangement for stay made after the demand of the parents
Parents of wrestlers raised questions over non-arrangement of accommodation for the open trials for the Under-17 and Under-23 Asian Championships, to be conducted by the IOA’s ad-hoc committee from May 17 to 19. After this, the committee and SAI issued a circular to make arrangements for the stay of the wrestlers for the trials to be held at NIS Patiala and SAI Center Sonipat. It has been said by SAI that wrestlers coming to Patiala and Sonepat will be accommodated at SAI center only, but for this they will be charged Rs 500 per wrestler. Earlier, a registration fee of Rs 1000 has also been asked from the wrestlers participating in the trial, which they will have to pay in cash before the trial. Food will be provided to them in lieu of this fee.
