Wrestlers of the country have been sitting on a dharna against Brij Bhushan Singh since April 23 at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Wrestlers have accused Wrestling Association President Brij Bhushan Singh of sexual harassment and are on a dharna demanding his arrest. Delhi Police has registered two FIIs against Brij Bhushan. One FIR has been registered on the complaint of the minor wrestler and the other FIR has been registered on the complaint of the remaining female wrestlers.
Brij Bhushan Singh has been rejecting the allegations leveled against him since the beginning and has also spoken about going to the gallows if proved guilty. Once again he has said the same thing. Sharing a photo of himself on Facebook, he said that he is ready to undergo narco or lie detector test, but Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat will also have to undergo the same test.
Brijbhushan wrote “I am ready to get my narco test, polygraphy test or lie detector done, but my condition is that Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia should also get these tests done along with me. What is the matter?
In January 2023, the country’s top wrestlers accused Brij Bhushan Singh, President of the Wrestling Association, of sexual exploitation and asked to remove him from the post. On the demand of the wrestlers, an inquiry committee was formed against Brij Bhushan and the strike ended. However, despite the report of the inquiry committee coming in April, no action was taken against Brij Bhushan. After this the wrestlers again sat on the dharna and despite the registration of FIR against Brij Bhushan, are sitting on the dharna and demanding his arrest. The wrestlers are getting the support of Khaps and many political parties. At the same time, Brij Bhushan Singh has been telling himself innocent since the beginning. Two FIRs have been registered against Brij Bhushan and investigation is going on against him.
