India, already out after losing 1-4 to Chinese Taipei and 0-5 to Malaysia, ended their campaign with a 4-1 win over Australia in the final Group C match on Wednesday. Sai Prateek and Tanisha Cresto were defeated by Kenneth Hui Cho and Gronya Somerville 17-21, 21-14, 21-18 in the first match of the mixed doubles. From 0-1 down, HS Prannoy defeated Jack Yu 21-8, 21-8 to make it 1-1.
Anupama Upadhyay, who replaced PV Sindhu, defeated Tiffany Ho 21-16, 21-18. MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila beat Ricky Tang and Ryan Wang 21-11, 21-12 to take an unassailable 3-1 lead. Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa defeated Kaitlin Eya and Angela Yu 21-19, 21-13 to give India a 4-1 win.
