Redmi 11 Prime 5G A basic 5G smartphone comes with hardware. The company has launched it in two storage options. The base variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and is priced at Rs 13,999. The price of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is Rs 15,999. The phone can be purchased at an initial price of Rs 12,999 through ICICI Bank credit card and debit card.
The price of the phone has been kept quite low, so now let’s see what the phone actually offers. I used the phone for a few hours and my first impressions are that the phone looks good. I came across its Meadow Green color variant, which gives a very refreshing look. Xiaomi has recently launched many blue and white shades of phones, so its green color looks quite good. The matte finish has been given in Texture Black color, so that it prevents fingerprints from falling on the phone. If you are not a fan of green, then you can also go with Chrome Silver and Thunder Black options.
The body of the phone is made entirely of plastic which is very common for phones in this price range. Keeping in mind the design trend of smartphones that came in 2022, Xiaomi has given a flat frame in it. The rear panel is curved, which makes it easy to hold the phone. The power button is given on the right side which also houses the fingerprint scanner. Above this, the volume buttons are found. There is a single speaker at the bottom and a USB Type C port has been given. A plus point is that for wired headphones, it also gets a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top, which is a feature that matters to many users. Redmi has given a dedicated microSD card slot in it, which is available with the dual SIM slot on the left side.
The phone is slightly more in weight at 200 grams and its thickness is also quite a lot, 8.9mm. The company also gives a protective case of silicone in the box. Apart from this, a 22.5W charger and USB Type-A to USB Type-C charging cable are also available with it. Although the phone supports 18W fast charging only.
Redmi 11 Prime 5G has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display. It has a brightness of 400 nits, which can not be said much but, I did not have any problem in using it indoors. The display has a waterdrop notch design at the top but the chin is a bit thick at the bottom. The protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 has also been given on the screen. The phone supports 90Hz AdaptiveSync Display. This means that the screen automatically switches between 50, 60 and 90Hz, depending on the content playing on the screen.
MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC has been given in Redmi 11 Prime 5G which is said to be a chip to deliver an affordable 5G experience. Xiaomi says that the phone supports seven 5G bands. That is, 5G services can be used on both the SIM cards of your phone. In its full review, we will tell you about its everyday performance.
Dual camera setup is available in the rear in Redmi 11 Prime 5G. The primary lens is 50 megapixels with f / 1.8 aperture. The secondary sensor is a 2 megapixel depth lens. The phone has an 8 megapixel front camera for selfie.
Talking about the software, the phone out-of-the-box runs on Android 12, on which MIUI 13 skin has been given. Xiaomi’s user interface is known for a lot of features but it also comes with a lot of bloatware. You can remove most third party apps. Being a budget smartphone, it cannot be expected to get many software updates going forward, but the company can also surprise with the update. Android 13 update can be expected at least in the next few months. The company has not announced any details for software support.
