How to book train tickets on IRCTC website
IRCTC Website To book tickets through IRCTC, first of all you must have an IRCTC account. For this, open irctc.co.in and click on the register button, which will be given at the top of the webpage. Once the page is opened, enter your details here like username, password, security question-answer, and eligible language etc. Enter your name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, email id, home address, office address, etc. On agreeing to the terms and conditions, click on the Register button.
Those who already have an account or who have just created an account, they have to click on the red colored Login button. Here you have to sign-in by entering your captcha code along with your email id and password.
After logging in, type your destination in the Book your ticket box. Now select the date of journey and coach class. However, while booking tickets, keep in mind that at present only 15 trains will run from Delhi and they will go to the above mentioned 15 places.
Now the list will appear in front of you. The Railway Ministry has said that only AC coaches will be available in the train. Now click on Check availability and you will also see train availability. If seats are available, proceed with the process of booking your tickets by clicking on Book Now.
Now a new web page will appear, in which you will have to fill the passenger related information like name, age, gender and date of birth etc. Here IRCTC also gives you other options like book only when confirmed berths are allotted, auto-upgrade, prefer coach etc. Here you will also get the option of travel insurance. Now scroll down and click on Continue after entering your mobile number and captcha code.
Now you will be able to review your booking, which will include name, train, berth and other information. Then click on Continue Booking.
Now a new page will appear, where you will get the option to pay the ticket. Here you can choose your preferred medium like Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI and others. On the right side of the screen you will see your ticket fare. After making the payment, you will see the information related to your ticket, which includes train name, coach number and berth number etc. You can download the ticket, the option of which will be available to you there. Apart from this, information about this ticket will also be given to you on your registered mobile number.
How to book train tickets on IRCTC mobile app
Booking tickets through the mobile app is also very easy, for which you have to click on the login button like on the website. Here you have to sign-in by entering your captcha code along with your email id and password. If you do not have an account, you can also create a new account by clicking on the Register button, in which you have to fill all the same information as given above.
After login, click on Plan my journey and then search train by entering station name, destination and date. You can select your coach type by tapping on Name of the train. After this, you will see the available list of trains on the selected date. If the seat is available, then proceed with the process of booking the ticket. On the next page, you will have to fill the passenger’s name, mobile number and other information.
Lastly, you will get the option of making the payment, in which you can choose the medium of your choice. After that complete the payment by entering the captcha code. Now you will get all the information related to your ticket.
