Indian woman athlete Priya H Mohan aspires to become the fastest 400m sprinter in the country. Priya has returned to training after recovering from injury and is eyeing a medal at the Asian Games under Cuban coach Enier Garcia.
Achievement was achieved at the age of 18
In 2021, Priya became the country’s fastest 400 meter runner with a time of 52.77 seconds and at that time she was 18 years old. After this, she could not win a medal in two World Under-20 World Championships.
He said, ‘There have been many ups and downs in my career. Sometimes you go up and then you go down. It is necessary to come down in the life of the players because then he can come back strongly. I have started with a new coach. I have many goals to achieve. I want to become the fastest 400m runner in the country in 2023 and win a medal in the Asian Games.
Broke ties with coach Arjun
Two months back, Priya had parted ways with former coach Arjun Ajay. She linked up with Arjun during a national school tournament in 2018. Now she is practicing with Garcia in Bellary, Karnataka. She was a member of the bronze-winning team in the mixed 4x400m relay at the World Under-20 Championships.
