Kerala Tourist Places Munnar Dense Fog Enticing Tourists For Travel

Munnar: Due to the fall in the temperature of Munnar in Kerala state of India, fog has spread in this beautiful hill town. People are turning towards this most popular tourist destination of Kerala to enjoy the winter season. Citing the data of the Private Weather Forecasting Service, the people living here said that since the beginning of January, there has been a continuous drop in temperature in this hill station and many areas around it, and this week Chenduwara In areas like Estate and Lechmi Estate, the temperature has reached minus one degree Celsius.

The continuing fall in the temperature level has resulted in a thick blanket of fog enveloping the tea gardens, greenery, lush trees and meadows of Munnar, also known as the ‘Kashmir of the South’ is considered. The beauty associated with nature like tiny crystals lying on the valleys, frost-covered meadows and snow plants, hidden within the fierce fog, is attracting everyone’s attention on social media. A senior official of the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) said that the temperature in Munnar is continuously falling. However, there is no official confirmation whether the temperature has gone below zero or not. The Meteorological Department does not have any local observatory in this area. According to the data of the Meteorological Center, the temperature was recorded up to one degree Celsius, although it was not seen below this. According to the PTI report, the officer said that one drawback is that we do not have any observatory in the area. It is being claimed on social media that there is snowfall in Munnar. Many pictures and messages are going viral. Although it cannot be snowfall. It could just be fog.

He said that when the temperature drops, there is fog all around. The same is true of high altitude areas as well. Many hotels in and around Munnar are excited about the arrival of tourists as they are getting more and more bookings. Shibu, a resident of this area, told that not only in Munnar but also in some areas like Devikulam, more cold is being felt. Shibu also said that years ago winters used to start in Munnar till September. By December and January it used to end. However, due to climate change with changing times, these months have turned into cold months.
