Jaya Ekadashi fasting story

According to the legend, Dharmaraj Yudhishthir once knew the greatness of Shri Krishna Jaya Ekadashi fast. Shri Krishna told the story that once a festival was going on in the assembly of Indra in the Nandan forest. In this assembly, the deities and the sages were enjoying the festival with elation. Gandharvas were singing and Apsaras were dancing in the festival. One of these Gandharva was Mallyawan. There was a beautiful dancer named Pushyavati. During the festival, Pushyavati and Malyavan were infatuated with each other and forgot their modesty in the presence of everyone.

Indra cursed to be born in a vampire vagina

The gods and sages became uncomfortable with this act of Pushyavati and Malyavan. After this Devraj Indra became very angry. Indra cursed both of them that after expelling them from heaven, they cursed them to reside in vampire vagina on the earth.

Due to the effect of the curse, Pushyavati and Malyavan started suffering in the vampire vagina. The life of both of them in the phantom vagina was very painful.

Freedom from ghost vagina due to the effect of Jaya Ekadashi

The day of Jaya Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha came in the month of Magh. On this day both got to eat only fruits. Both could not sleep at night due to cold. In this way, unknowingly the night awakening of Ekadashi also happened. That day, repenting for his actions, he prayed to Lord Vishnu to free him from this painful life.

Unknowingly both of them completed the fast of Jaya Ekadashi but both died by morning. With the effect of this fast, both of them got freedom from the vampire Yogi and they again went to heaven. Since then the fast of Jaya Ekadashi started being observed.
