As against the target of 500 boats, 583 boats have already been converted to CNG. The government is now trying to run 2 thousand boats with CNG. In order to promote CNG fuel, a target has been set to run CNG-powered boats on the holy Ganges of Varanasi.

pollution will reduce

Hardeep Puri told that CNG engines spread less pollution than diesel engines. They also do not emit harmful gases like sulfur dioxide. Also, CNG engines are very quiet. Its use can significantly reduce the ill effects of high noise diesel engines on water life and historical heritage associated with the Ghats. Hardeep Singh Puri said that this is a very important step for us. Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in the whole world. Here tradition and modernity meet. The CNG engine not only reduces the amount of pollution, but it will also help a lot in saving Rs 25,000 to 30,000 for boat operators.
