Indian archer Priyansh won gold at the World Archery Youth Championships, taking the country’s medal tally to nine. Priyansh became the Under-21 World Champion by defeating Slovenia’s Aljaj Branc 147-141 in a one-sided Men’s Under-21 individual final. India has so far won nine medals including five gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
Earlier, budding archer Aditi Swami became the Under-18 women’s world champion by defeating Leanne Drake of America. Aditi, who set the U-18 compound women’s qualifying record at the World Cup last month, continued her run of form when she defeated Leanne 142-136 in the final of the ongoing Youth World Championships.
Making her senior debut at the World Cup, Aditi also won the team bronze medal in Colombia last month. Aditi had also won an individual silver medal at the third stage of the Asia Cup in Sharjah last year.
