BHIM App Now Lets You Schedule Payments

The BHIM app of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) already had many useful features and now one more feature has been added to the BHIM app for doing UPI transactions. In August 2018 i.e. last year, NPCI had announced that UPI 2.0 will get many functional features including one time mandate, overdraft account and higher transaction limit.

After the latest update to the BHIM app, the one-time mandate feature has been added to the app. This feature will prove to be beneficial for the people because with the help of this feature you will be able to schedule your payment easily. For example, if you pay rent for your house on the 15th of every month, you will be able to schedule the payment before the 15th. For the information of you people, let us tell you that at present the app only allows peer-to-peer UPI mandate. Let us now tell you how this feature works.

How to Use UPI Mandate Feature on BHIM App

First of all, open the BHIM app and enter your 4-digit password to login to the account. On the home screen, just below Bill Pay, you will see the option of UP Mandate (“UPI Mandate”). Here you will see four tabs like My Mandate, Create, Scan and Gift. In My Mandates, you will see all the Mandates that you have created. With the help of the scan option, you can create a mandate by scanning the receiver’s QR code.

After clicking on the create option, you will see the recent UPI contacts to whom you have sent money. You can select any of these contacts or enter a new UPI ID. After that enter the amount and then click on the Next button shown below. After that it will ask you the frequency.

After entering the frequency, you have to write the validity (start and end date), remark and then click on Proceed. After entering all the information, you will see the confirm button, the thing to note is that before confirming once again read all the information carefully.

Send money as a gift with the help of BHIM app

You can also send money as a gift to anyone with the help of the UPI mandate feature of the BHIM app. For this you have to click on Gift. After clicking on the gift, click on the name of the contact to whom you want to send money, if you want, you can also search by entering the UPI ID.

After that enter the amount and select the occasion (Birthday, Anniversary, Diwali etc.). After that select the expiry date, write the message and click on the create button. Before confirming, read the entered information once again. After this you will be asked for a 4-digit PIN. Note that the maximum transaction limit per mandate is Rs 20,000 and you can set the maximum validity of the mandate to 90 days.
