The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Friday disqualified all office bearers of the Wrestling Federation of India. IOA’s Joint Secretary Kalyan Choubey issued an order to the wrestling association, banning the administrative, economic work of all its office bearers. The IOA has asked the wrestling association to immediately hand over all documents, accounts and logins for entries to foreign tournaments, website operations to it. The IOA has taken this step after the Sports Ministry canceled the elections of the Wrestling Federation of India and entrusted the task of conducting and conducting the elections to an ad-hoc committee of the IOA.
The General Secretary of Wrestling Association was doing the work
The IOA had on May 3 constituted a three-member ad-hoc committee, comprising Wushu Federation’s Bhupender Singh Bajwa, Olympian shooter Suma Shirur and a retired judge, to run the wrestling association and hold elections within 45 days. The committee also took over its duties. The Under-17 and Under-23 Asian Championships team selection trials and selection committee were also announced under his leadership, but the IOA did not issue a stay order on the work of the wrestling association. Due to which the general secretary of the wrestling association, VN Prasud, was using email and other resources while continuing the work of the wrestling association.
Ad hoc committee will work like National Sports Association
Prasud objected to the names of the technical directors announced by the ad-hoc committee for the selection trial. Sources reveal that he objected to the ad-hoc committee on the appointment of Gyan Singh as the technical director for the trials through an official letter from the wrestling association. Gyan Singh is in support of wrestlers protesting against wrestling association president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over allegations of sexual harassment. He also goes to the dharna site. It was only after this that the IOA issued an order that the ad-hoc committee, playing the role of the National Federation of Wrestling, would carry out all the work within the purview of the Sports Code.

Statement of one more complainant was recorded after the Delhi Police placed before the court the status report of its probe into the sexual harassment of women wrestlers against Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
