Tiger Woods’ ex-girlfriend Erica Herman has dropped her $30 million lawsuit against his estate. Erika alleged that she lived with Woods, but was later wrongfully evicted from the house. The lawsuit, filed in October 2022, alleged that the trust owned by Woods, 47, violated the Florida Residential Landlord Tenant Act by breaking an oral tenancy agreement. Erika sought $30 million in a lawsuit against the golfer’s estate. Records show that it was withdrawn late last month.
According to media reports, the lawsuit was dropped, saying “Erica Herman, through her attorney, dismisses without prejudice the complaint filed on October 26, 2022, pending resolution of the appeal in Herman v. Woods, and determines that her claims are not subject to arbitration.”
Harman says she was in a relationship with Tiger in 2015, while Woods says his relationship with Erika began in 2017. However, the couple broke up in October 2022 with Harman alleging that he cheated and was evicted from the house. Erika claimed that she was asked by Woods to pack for a vacation and arrived at the airport to find that she had been kicked out of the house.
Erika said that she and Mr. Woods had an “oral tenancy agreement” that gave her the right to remain in the house and that she could live in the house for five years when they separated, based on that agreement. Herman’s lawyers said in their filing that $30 million (Rs 2,462,128,020) should be paid to him as rent for the house over the next five years.
Erika later sought to be released from the nondisclosure agreement she signed with Woods, saying he sexually assaulted her when she was working at his restaurant in Florida. A Florida judge called the sexual misconduct claims “vague and absurd” and twice ruled that the case should be handled through private arbitration. Meanwhile, Woods denied the allegations against him and branded Herman a fraud.
