When Shiva did not rise in front of King Daksha (Shiv Ji and Raja Daksha Story)
According to the legend, when King Daksha arrived to organize a yagya, all the gods and goddesses present there stood up and welcomed him. But keep sitting with Mahadev Brahmaji. King Daksh considered it an insult and used many derogatory words towards Bholenath. This is one of the reasons why King Daksh did not like Shiva at all.
King Daksha refused to consider Goddess Sati as Shiva’s husband.
According to legend, Goddess Sati, daughter of King Daksha, wanted to marry Shiva, but Daksha did not consider Mahadev as a suitable groom for her daughter. For this reason, he organized Swayamvara for the marriage of Sati but did not invite Shiva in it. Mata Sati had accepted Bholenath as her husband, so she took the name of Shiva and put a garland on the earth, at the same time Shiva appeared there and the garland was put around her neck. Shiva left from there with his wife Sati. Sati Mata married Shiva against her father’s wish, due to which King Daksha started disliking Bholenath.
Why was King Daksh irritated with Shiva?
According to mythological beliefs, King Daksha Prajapati was the Manas son of Brahmaji. Brahma ji had five heads, out of which 3 used to recite Vedas but 2 always used to criticize people. Once the two faces of Brahma ji were saying good and bad about religion, deities and Vedas. Lord Shiva got very angry because of this and in a fit of anger he cut off the fifth head of Brahma and separated it from the torso. King Daksha Prajapati started hating Lord Shiva for beheading his father Brahma.
