“Some truths are such that others cannot tolerate them and some are not tolerated by themselves”, Katha (Kiara Advani) sitting opposite tells Satyaprem (Karthik Aryan) with tears in her eyes. The story of the film is about accepting this truth and keeping it in front of everyone.
Satyaprem aka Sattu falls in love at first sight with Katha, a beautiful and ambitious girl from an affluent Gujarati family. But their love story is not as simple as Sattu had thought.

Story
Failed in law exam and unemployed, Satyaprem is a boy from a middle-class family, whose house is run by his mother and sister. He has father in the name of friend and ‘Katha’ in the name of dreams. On the occasion of Navratri, his eyes fall on Katha and it is love at first sight. However, Sattu knows that Katha is way out of his league. But fate has planned something else for both of them. Circumstances become such that suddenly both of them get married. Sattu’s heart is filled with wonder and happiness.. but the story holds the burden of a mystery in the heart. Despite being close, both are far away. In such a situation, how Satyaprem makes the story his own and gives him courage to remove every burden from his heart.. This is the essence of the story.
acting
The chemistry of Karthik Aryan and Kiara Advani is the strongest side of this film. There is an untold spontaneity between the two, which was essential for this story. Talking about Karthik, where his energy is seen in the songs, he brings a seriousness and emotion on his face in the emotional scenes. He fits in well with his family as a tired boy and looks at ease as the love-struck Satyaprem. Kiara is the surprise package of this film. Her character required a pause, which the actress has captured very well. There is no doubt that this is Kiara’s best performance till date. The actress has given a fine and restrained performance in a complex role. Artists like Gajraj Rao, Supriya Pathak and Siddharth Randeria have lived their characters with utmost sincerity. Though Rajpal Yadav could have done more in a cameo, the director has completely ignored his potential.
direction and technical side
The film is a love story, but it is not limited to just that. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, this story also gives a message, which is serious and also takes this love story closer to sentimentality. Without revealing much about the story, it can only be said that the director has given an important message through the film with great sensitivity, along with entertainment. It does not preach..and this is what makes it different from other films. However, it would not be wrong to say that Satyaprem Ki Katha is not the kind of film you saw in the trailer. The film does not have a tickle comedy, but it is very intense. At the level of the screenplay, the film is a bit shaky, especially in the first half.. But the film moves forward thanks to commendable performances, excellent supporting starcast and some freshness in the script. The production design and cinematography of the film is excellent. The way Sameer Vidwans has brought out the chemistry of Karthik and Kiara on the screen, it is obviously the highlight of the film.
music
It is a musical film, so there were high expectations from the songs of the film. The music of the film is composed by Meet Brothers, Anjan, Tanishk Bagchi, Manan Bhardwaj, Payal Dev and Rochak Kohli. Lyrics of the song Kumar, A. Written by M. Turaz, Tanishk Bagchi, Manan Bhardwaj and Gurpreet Saini. If seen, the soundtrack of the film has been kept quite mixed. While Kartik’s thunderous entry with ‘Gujju Pataakha’ looks perfect, ‘Aaj Ke Baad’ leaves you a little romantic and emotional. You remember these two songs even after the film.
rating
Satyaprem Ki Katha is a beautiful yet emotional love story that touches the heart. At the same time, the chemistry of Karthik Aryan and Kiara Advani makes the film strong. 4 stars for ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ from Filmbeat.
