Bangladesh beat Maldives 3-1 to keep their semi-final chances alive in the ongoing SAFF Football Championship here on Sunday. Hamza Mohammed (17th minute) gave Maldives a 1-0 lead but Rakib Hussain (42nd minute), Tariq Qazi (67th minute) and Tariq Qazi (90th minute) helped Bangladesh seal the match.
Bangladesh got three points by winning the Group B match. Maldives had secured three points by defeating Bhutan in the first match. Now both Maldives and Bangladesh will have to win their matches against Lebanon. Lebanon also has three points. Lebanon is scheduled to play its last league match against Bhutan on June 28.
