The Indian team has won the South Asian Football Federation Championship (SAFF) title. In the final match at Bangalore, India defeated Kuwait 5-4 in the penalty shootout. The two teams were tied at 1-1 for the stipulated 90 minutes, after which neither team scored in the extra time of 30 minutes. The match was eventually decided by a penalty shootout in which India won 5–4. Goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh played a key role in India’s victory.
