Now the club has revealed that he can play in the home match on 21 July.
Club owner Jorge Mais told a newspaper that Inter Miami and Messi have agreed on terms. Paperwork and visa are being finalized. The team confirmed some details to news agency The Associated Press on Tuesday. Messi will sign a contract with Inter Miami until 2025. There will be an option to extend it for one more year.
How much will Messi’s salary be?
Messi’s contract will be worth $50 million to $60 million a year. Messi is currently a player of Paris Saint Germain. He cannot officially sign a deal with Inter Miami until mid-July. Messi, 35, announced on June 7 that he was joining Miami. The Argentine great’s first match in Fort Lauderdale will be against Cruz Azul in the League Cup.
Stadium capacity will be increased
The team also confirmed on Tuesday that it is looking to increase the capacity of 3,000 to 3,200 seats at DRV PNK Stadium by filling in corners over the next four weeks, bringing the capacity to approximately 22,000.
