Gokulam Kerala beat Kickstart FC Karnataka 5-0 to win the Indian Women’s Football League title. Gokulam became the first team to win the title for the third consecutive season. Sabarita Bhandari (05th minute), Sandhya Ranganathan (22nd, 52nd minute), Indumati (37th minute) and Roja Devi (80th minute) scored the goals. Gokulam Kerala’s performance showed how far the rest of the team lag behind them. The first goal was the result of excellent footwork.
Dengmei Grace kept possession of the ball as she ran through the Karnataka team’s mid-line and passed the ball to Bhandari, who was on the right edge of the box, who did not stop at scoring. After scoring the first goal early, there was no looking back for Gokulam Kerala. Seventeen minutes later, Sandhya took possession of the ball and then tricked the keeper to make it 2-0. Indumati scored to put Gokulam ahead 3-0 before the break. In the second half, the team scored two more goals.
