The Indian women’s hockey team continued its run of impressive performances in the Junior Asia Cup, thrashing Chinese Taipei 11-0. With this win, the team topped Pool A and entered the semi-finals. Anu and Sunelita Toppo scored two goals each in India’s victory.
India remained undefeated in the pool. He won three matches and one match was tied. Goals for India Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke (1), Deepika (3), Anu (10, 52), Rutuja Pisal (12), Neelam (19), Manju Chaurasia (33), Sunelita Toppo (43, 57), Deepika Soreng (46′) and Mumtaz Khan (55′) scored the goals. India dominated from the start and took a 4-0 lead in the first quarter itself. India’s lead was 5-0 in the second quarter and 7-0 in the third. India will play hosts Japan or Kazakhstan in the semi-finals.
