Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic will try to win his 23rd Grand Slam title when he takes on 24-year-old Casper Rudd in the men’s singles final at the French Open on Sunday. If 36-year-old Djokovic wins this title, he will win the most singles Grand Slam titles and in this case will leave behind Spanish player Rafael Nadal (22 Grand Slams).
It won’t be an easy road for Djokovic and he will face stiff challenges from Rudd. However, Rudd would like to correct his poor record of defeat in the final. He had reached the finals in this tournament last year where he had to face defeat. Apart from this, he also lost in the final of the last US Open. He defeated Zverev in the semi-finals 6-3, 6-4, 6-0 to book his ticket to the final.
Novak Djokovic’s performance at the French Open hasn’t been that great compared to the rest of the Grand Slams. He has won this title only twice so far. He last won the French Open in 2021. However, his performance against Casper Rudd has been spectacular. There have been four matches between the two players and Djokovic has won each time.
I hope to have the French Open winner’s trophy in my hands Casper Rudd
I am working hard to get another Grand Slam trophy Novak Djokovik
