If you are a fish lover, this recipe will definitely add to your favorite list.Without adding unnecessary spices, this simple fish korma recipe can be made in less than an hour with just a few ingredients. You can add cloves, cardamom and cinnamon in it. This fish korma recipe also contains curd, cashew paste and raisin paste, which gives a rich and creamy texture to the dish.
Since it is korma, we added only 1 cup of water to make the curry Because the base of korma curry should always be thick. Don’t forget to fry some chopped onions in ghee and later use them as a garnish to enhance the flavor of the dish even more. Be it rice or chapati, fish korma tastes equally good with both. You can include it in your dinner party menu or serve it during family lunch as well.
Marinate the fish: Put all the fish fillets in a bowl. Sprinkle salt as per taste with lemon juice. Mix well to coat the pieces. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
Fry the fish fillets: Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a non stick pan. Add the fish fillets and shallow fry till golden brown spots appear on them. Once cooked, take them out in a plate.
Saute 3 onions: Now take 1 onion and cut it into very thin slices. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan. Add onion pieces to it and fry till it turns golden brown. – After frying, take these pieces out in a bowl and keep them aside for later use.
Fry the spices: Now heat some oil in a pan. Add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and fry for a minute. Now add 2 chopped onions to it and fry till it turns golden. Finally add ginger paste, garlic paste, green chilli paste, coriander powder and salt. Mix and fry for 2 minutes.
5 Add curd, cashew and raisin paste: Now add curd to the pan and mix well. Fry for about 6-8 minutes. Now add cashew paste and raisin paste. Mix and fry for 2-3 minutes.
Make a curry: Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and mix well. Fry the paste for about 5 minutes. Now add 1 cup of water to this paste and boil it. This will make a nice and thick curry.
Add the fried fish: Now add the fried fish pieces to the curry paste along with garam masala and fried onions. Cook for another minute and switch off the flame.
Ready to serve: Your fish korma is now ready to serve. Serve it with rice or chapati and enjoy.
