Thursday (June 29) brought good news for Indian football fans. Team India has joined the top-100 in the latest rankings released by FIFA. Earlier the ranking of the Indian team was 101. She has managed to break into the top-100 for the first time in five years. The Indian team got the benefit of winning the Intercontinental Cup held in Bhubaneswar. He defeated Lebanon 2–0 in the final of this tournament.
The loss in the final of the Intercontinental Cup saw Lebanon drop three places and move from 99 to 102. India’s best ever FIFA ranking is 94. The Indian team is currently playing in the SAFF Championship, where it has to play the semi-finals against Lebanon on Saturday.
