Young badminton players Tara Shah and Aayush Shetty were on Friday included in the Indian team for the Asia Junior Championships to be held in Indonesia. This was confirmed by the Badminton Association of India (BAI). The championship will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from July 7 to 16.
According to BAI, Tara is ranked seventh in the girls’ category in the World Badminton Federation’s rankings. At the same time, Ayush Shetty is present in the 20th position in the boys category. Lakshya Sharma and Rakshita Shree S made it to the team in the boys and girls category respectively on the basis of their brilliant performance in the trials.
In the boys’ doubles, Nicholls Nathan Raj and Tushar Suveer, while in the women’s singles the pairing of Radhika Sharma and Tanvi Sharma will present the challenge. The pair of Suvir and Radhika has got a place in the doubles category.
