Covid-19: Heart disease used to happen to the elderly earlier and its number was also limited, but since Corona, a sudden increase in heart attack cases has been observed. The number of youth among those who died is more. However, what is the reason behind why this is happening. Sufficient evidence is not yet available about this. At present, 3 different types of research are going on to collect information. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has given information about this during the monsoon session in the Parliament today. Let us know about it. He said that a multi-centric study on factors associated with sudden deaths among adults aged 18 to 45 years in India is underway in about 40 hospitals/research centers.
2.Study is underway in about 30 COVID-19 clinical registry hospitals to determine the effect of COVID vaccine on thrombotic events among 18 to 45 year population in India in 2022.

3. Apart from this, another study is underway to establish the cause of sudden unexplained deaths in young people through virtual and physical autopsies.
When will the research report come
A total of three subjects are under research study. Earlier there was information that the report of the study would be released in July 2023. But ICMR is doing a very deep study regarding the initial report of the study. In such a situation, there is an effort that its data or any information related to it will be made public only when it is fully confirmed.
What work is the government doing for the victims?
To address the health problems related to heart disease, the Department of Health and Family Welfare of the Center provides technical and financial assistance to the states and union territories under the National Program for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD).
Patients with heart disease are being provided treatment and health facilities in medical colleges, central institutions like AIIMS, central government hospitals and private sector hospitals.
AIIMS and several large health institutions also focus on heart disease and its various aspects under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
Health insurance cover for treatment up to 5 lakhs has been provided every year under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. More than 60 crore beneficiaries are getting its benefits.
