Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the Indian players involved in the Special Olympics World Games being held in Berlin. Addressing the distinguished athletes participating in the competition to be held from June 17 to 25, Prime Minister Modi said, “We are proud of each and every athlete representing us at the Games. I pray that they continue to show their spirit, determination and Shine your light on the world through flexibility.”

What are the Special Olympics World Games?
The Special Olympics World Games provide an opportunity to unite the world. No other event can do this. Here people with and without disabilities, who belong to different nations, cultures, political views and religions. Let’s meet here and overcome existing prejudices with the power of sport.
This year, these games are being organized from 17 to 25 June 2023, in the city of Berlin, Germany. The competition will feature over 7,000 Special Olympics athletes and integrated partners from approximately 190 countries to compete in 26 sports. The athletes will be accompanied by more than 3,000 coaches and 20,000 volunteers, who will assist the athletes during different competitions.
