Tokyo Olympics gold medalist and three-time world champion Risako Kawai of Japan has come out in support of the wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar. Kawai is the first Olympic gold medalist to lend her support to women wrestlers who have accused Wrestling Federation of India President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan of sexual harassment. Kawai, who won gold in the 57 weight category at the Tokyo Olympics, said on social media that she hoped Indian wrestlers would get an environment where they could practice in peace.
Brij Bhushan should be prevented from attending the inauguration of Parliament
On the other hand, Vinesh Phogat said that if Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh remains present at the inauguration of the new Parliament House on May 28, it will send a wrong message to the countrymen. Vinesh said that Brij Bhushan should not be allowed to attend the inauguration of the Parliament House. He said that whoever is saving Brij Bhushan is against us. They do not know what is going on inside, but it is not right to save them. Vinesh said that the mahapanchayat to be held outside the Parliament House on May 28 will be held peacefully.
