The Union Sports Ministry has accepted the request of star wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat to train in Kyrgyzstan and Poland under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS). Bajrang wants to train for 16 days in Kyrgyzstan and 11 days in Spala, Poland.

Under TOPS, the air travel expenses, accommodation and food expenses of the players will be borne. Apart from this, the expenses of Vinesh’s partner Sangeeta Phogat, physiotherapist Ashwini Jeevan Patil and Bajrang’s coach Sujit Mann will also be covered.

Meanwhile, the monitoring committee has decided to organize a camp for senior Asian wrestling on the basis of selection trials. The camp will be organized at the Sonepat Regional Center of the Sports Authority of India. A total of 108 wrestlers will participate in this camp, in which 36 women, 33 Greco-Roman and 39 men will be freestyle wrestlers.
