World Swimming Championship: Australian swimmer Shaina breaks her hand, will no longer be involved in any event

Australian swimmer Shayna Jack broke her arm during practice on Wednesday during the heat of the 100m freestyle at the World Championships. Shaina, who won gold in 4x100m relay and gold in 4x100m medley relay mixed at the same World Championships, will no longer be able to participate in other events. Shaina, 23, had won two silver and two bronze medals at the 2017 World Championships.

Transgender players will not participate in big swimming events
There was a lot of uproar over the inclusion of transgender players in the women’s category. After this, FINA (World Swimming Organization) has banned the inclusion of transgender players in the women’s category. Now transgender players are not able to join the women’s category in major swimming competitions. There has been a lot of commotion because of this. However, a similar decision has been taken in rugby as well. After this, there are speculations that similar restrictions can be imposed on transgender players in other sports.
