The Indian team has started their campaign in the Women’s Junior Asia Cup with a huge win. In the first match, Team India defeated Uzbekistan by a margin of 22-0. Annu scored a double hat-trick and was the top scorer for the team. Apart from them Vaishnavi, Mumtaz, Sunelita, Manju Chaurasia, Deepka Soreng, Deepika and Neelam also scored goals.

Annu scored in the 13th, 29th, 30th, 38th, 43rd and 51st minutes. Wherein, Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke third and 56th, Mumtaz Khan sixth, 44th, 47th and 60th, Sunelita Toppo 17th, Manju Chaurasia 26th, Deepika Soreng 18th, 25th, Deepika 32nd, 44th, 46th and 57th and Neelam Scored a goal in the 47th minute.

India started attacking Uzbekistan from the start and Vaishnavi took an early lead in the third minute of the match by converting a penalty corner. Mumtaz doubled India’s lead three minutes later with a field strike. Annu added to the team’s tally with a goal as India took a 3-0 lead in the opening quarter.

The second quarter was also in the name of the Indian team. India dominated the match as Sunilita, Manju, Deepika and Anu scored goals to take a 10-0 lead at half-time.

The story remained the same even after the change of ends in the second half, with Deepika scoring a penalty corner goal while Anu scored two more goals to give India a 13-0 lead. Mumtaz and Dipika scored goals in the closing moments of the third quarter to make it 15-0. It was a one-sided match as India scored seven more goals in the final quarter. India’s next pool match will be against Malaysia on June 5.
