New Delhi. On the occasion of World Tourism Day, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presented the National Tourism Awards to the achievers in the tourism industry. 81 awards were given for the year 2018-19 at a function organized by the Ministry of Tourism in Delhi. Apart from the Vice President, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Tourism Ajay Bhatt and Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh were present on this occasion. The ‘GoBeyond:75 Experiences of North India’ e-book was launched at the function.
On this occasion, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said that India is a paradise for tourism. He asked the people associated with the tourism industry to find new domestic tourist destinations before looking at international tourism. Most of the tourist places of the country have a deep connection with our history, folk arts and ancient texts.
On this occasion, Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said that the tourism sector is developing under the guidance of the Prime Minister. For this, the Ministry of Tourism is working with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Road Transport, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Commerce for the development of tourism, so that world class infrastructure can be developed here. He said that the presidency of G20 provides a better opportunity to promote the tourism sector in India. With this, the tourism industry will grow more than before.
