Former Chelsea and Newcastle forward Christian Atsu has been rescued from the rubble following a devastating earthquake in Turkey. The Ghana Football Association gave this information in a post on Twitter. He plays for Turkish club Hatıspor.
A club spokesman said a day earlier that Atsu was possibly in a residential building that collapsed after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake. There was no good news of Atsu before the Ghana Football Association’s tweet. Later the Ghana Football Association said that they have received some positive news that Atsu has been safely pulled out of the wreckage.
He is undergoing treatment but it is not yet known how much he has been injured. 31-year-old player Atsu joined Hatispor club last year. This earthquake was so terrible that more than 6,000 buildings collapsed in Turkey and rescue workers are trying to save people from the pile of debris in the middle of the cold winter.
