1. Body-on-Frame Construction
The Mahindra Scorpio-N is built on a body-on-frame construction, although its rival Tata Safari is built on a monocoque but the Scorpio-N is built on this chassis. On the other hand, Mahindra has built the XUV700 on a monocoque chassis, similar to the XUV500.
2. Low Range Gearbox
Mahindra Scorpio-N has been built on a 4 wheel drive system, it has been given both 4 wheel drive high and 4 wheel drive low mode, while it has been given with the terrain mode Rust, Mud, Slush and Rocks. Along with this, Mahindra Scorpio-N has been given a road based 4 wheel drive system with no low range gearbox. It is not given in XUV700.
3. Locking differential for both axles
Mahindra Scorpio-N gets brake-locking differential at the front and mechanical locking differential at the rear. Any type of lockable differential has been given in Mahindra XUV700. Hence, it can be said that Mahindra Scorpio-N comes with more off-road capability and performs better than the XUV700.
4. Side-Opening Tailgate
Like any other 4-wheel drive SUV, the Mahindra Scorpio-N gets side-opening tailgates. On the other hand, the traditional upward opening tailgate has been given in the XUV700. The tailgate of Mahindra Scorpio-N is made out of metal, while the XUV700 is made out of composite plastic material.
5. Captain’s Seat
Mahindra Scorpio-N has been given the option of captain seat in the middle row, although the company has given the option of captain seat only in the top model Z8 L. It has 6 and 7 seat options. On the other hand, the captain seat option is not given in the XUV700, it has been given the option of 5 and 7 seats.
Mahindra Scorpio-N has been launched in 5 variants, which include Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8L. Along with this, this SUV has been made available in two engine options, two gearbox options. The company has given the option of 2-wheel drive as well as 4-wheel drive, which has been named 4XLor.
Along with this, features like Alexa have been seen in a car for the first time. The new Mahindra logo has been given in it, which was seen in the XUV700 launched last year. Along with this, a 4 wheel drive system will also be given, it is available in both petrol and diesel engines.
