Afghanistan Attack: There has been a horrific terrorist attack on the Sikh Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The ISKP faction of the terrorist organization Islamic State has taken the responsibility of this attack. ISKP has said that this attack has been done in response to the derogatory statements made by BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal on Prophet. It is being told that terrorists armed with hand grenades and rifles entered the gurdwara and carried out at least 13 explosions one after the other.
Sharing the video of the blast, ‘Tolo News’ tweeted that the blast took place in Karte Parwan area of ​​Kabul. There are also reports of firing in the area. Karte Parwan Gurudwara is located in the same area. At present, the number of people killed in the blast and firing is not known. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) tweeted, ‘We are deeply concerned by the incident of attack on a holy Gurudwara in Kabul city. We are closely monitoring the situation and await further details regarding the incident.

China’s local news agency Xinhua quoted an eyewitness as saying, ‘We heard the sound of the explosion in the Karte Parwan area around 6 a.m. local time. The second explosion occurred about half an hour after the first explosion. At present, the entire area has been sealed. He said that the security forces have cordoned off the area as a precaution.
Fears of death of a large number of people
According to eyewitnesses, a plume of smoke spread in the sky due to the explosion. After the attack, there is an atmosphere of panic in the entire area. He said, “A large number of people are feared to have died in the blast. Several bullets were fired by the security forces as a warning signal.” Sikh community leaders estimate that there are only 140 Sikhs left in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, mostly in the eastern city of Jalalabad and the capital, Kabul.
Earlier, in March 2020, at least 25 Sikhs were killed and eight others were injured in a suicide attack on a Gurudara in Kabul. The attack was one of the deadliest attacks on the minority Sikh community in Afghanistan. The terrorist group Islamic State (IS) had claimed the responsibility of this attack in Shor Bazar area.
