World number one ranked female tennis player Inga Svitek withdrew from the grass court tournament to be held here next week due to a shoulder problem. He said on Friday that he needed to rest before Wimbledon.

Apart from second and third-ranked Annette Kontavite and Paula Badosa, former number one Naomi Osaka also pulled out of the tournament ahead of Switek, who recently won the French Open title for the second time.

Switek wrote on Twitter that she is ‘frequently facing shoulder trouble. I will focus on refreshing and resting for Wimbledon. This 21-year-old player is invincible for 35 consecutive matches.
