New Delhi. School students in the country will promote tourism. The government has started a special initiative with CBSE Schools to promote tourism. For this, an agreement has been reached between CBSE and the Ministry of Tourism. Tourism club will be formed in all CBSE affiliated schools. To promote tourism, students will learn the regional language and will also travel. This will make the students self-aware about tourism on the one hand, while on the other hand it will help in strengthening the economy of the country.
The Ministry of Tourism has taken an initiative to set up a ‘Youth Tourism Club’ as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations. The objective of the Youth Tourism Club is to encourage and develop the youth ambassadors of Indian tourism. These young ambassadors of tourism will be aware about the possibilities of tourism in India. Will enhance the rich cultural heritage and develop interest, passion towards tourism. Participation in these tourism clubs is also expected to encourage responsible tourism related activities.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has come forward to support this initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and has issued instructions to all CBSE affiliated schools regarding formation of Youth Tourism Clubs. The students will be aware about the domestic tourist destinations and will be equipped with suitable tools to promote the tourism sector. These tourism clubs will help the children to become more aware of their state and surrounding areas along with the cultural aspects.
The Ministry of Tourism has released ‘Booklet on Operation of Tourism Clubs for Schools’. Under this, teachers and schools were helped to travel, online or e-tourism, make friends in the state / union territory, learn the language of the state / union territory under the ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ (EBSB) program.
