Garbe Ke Geet is a combination of some desi and some Bollywood songs along with devotional songs. The soil of Gujarat, from where Garba and Dandiya spread all over the country and the world, has given many Garba singers too. Along with the typical Gujarati smell in the voice of these singers, there is also a unique style of folk art, which also gives uniqueness to the songs of Garbe. One such beautiful and chirping voice is Kinjal Dave of Gujarat. At a very young age, he made people all over the country crazy with both his voice and his style. His famous Garba ‘Chaar Char Bangdi Wali Gaadi’ is sung and played at Garba festivals across the country today.

Along with Navratri, nine days of festivities, gaiety and happiness will also begin. Dandiya or Garba is also a major attraction of this gleeful festival and is organized at many places across the country. In this nine-day long festival, Garbe is also organized in a new way every day. The songs of Garbe add to the enthusiasm of this event and when the color of typical Gujarat is settled in these songs, then what to say. Kinjal Dave dissolves such colors in the air with her voice.

four-sided

It was the time of 2015-16 when for the first time, Kinjal suddenly engulfed the entire country with the song ‘Chaar Chaar Bangdi Wali’. That song had become the Garba anthem of that era. The era of fusion in the songs of Garbe had started happening long back. Kinjal made it even more global. The beautiful personality with his strong voice and the style of singing while doing Garbe settled in the hearts of the people. The way he had mentioned in the song to bring a char chaar bangadi wali odi (cart) for his younger brother, everyone was captivated. But reaching here was not that easy either. Before this, there were many obstacles and challenges in Kinjal’s life, which she overcome even with the help of only one cycle without any Audi.

Belonging to an ordinary middle-class family in Jesangpura, a small village in Patan district (Gujarat), Kinjal’s father used to sing bhajans and garbes at events occasionally. Mother used to do sewing work. It was about that time when Kinjal’s father had come to Ahmedabad with the whole family for work. Along with the job, Kinjal’s father also used to sing and Kinjal would often accompany him to events and listen to him sing.

He started getting the knowledge of Laya, Taal and Sur from here. From the age of just 7-8 years, Kinjal started singing Gayatri recitation along with her father. This was his music training and this was Riyaz. The journey to reach the events would be completed on a cycle which was the only vehicle in his family. Time turned on the wheels of the cycle and after some savings a bike was bought but that too was stolen after a few days. This challenge did not deter Kinjal. She worked harder and bought another bike, today she has reached that level of success where she can easily buy an expensive four wheeler. Today, Kinjal has released around 100 albums, has done thousands of shows in India and abroad and has fans all over the world.

face mother faith

The main purpose of singing Garbe is to worship the mother. In the songs of Kinjal, the voices of worship of the mother are heard, she herself is also a devotee of the mother. Kinjal gives the credit of all her success to Chehar Maa. She believes that the position she is at today has been possible only with the blessings of her mother. Not only singing, Kinjal has also found success in genres like modeling and acting. She has also made a special identity in fashion modeling and dance. The Garbes sung by Kinjal during Navratri add even more enthusiasm to the dance steps in the pandals and this enthusiasm is increasing year after year.
