Ration Card Latest News: Now wheat will be less than next month and rice will be…

Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), the benefit of ration is being given by the central government to poor families for free till September, but this time the ration holders have not got wheat in some states including UP. Apart from this, from June to September, the quota of free wheat received by the central government will be reduced and rice can be given in its place.

Under the PMGKAY scheme, Bihar, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh are to be given ration free by September, in such a situation the quota of wheat has been reduced, which will be compensated by rice. According to the wheat stock in UP, the state government can give four kg of rice along with one kg of wheat, or only five kg of rice will be given, which is being considered by the government.

Why was the quota reduced?
The allocation of wheat may either be stopped or will be reduced from next month as there has been a decline in government procurement of wheat. Due to this the stock of wheat has decreased. In such a situation, instead of wheat, rice will be given to the ration card holders. This amendment has been made by the central government till the month of September. This will affect more than 15 crore beneficiaries of UP.

Wheat quota reduced in other states too
Along with UP, this rule has been implemented in other states like Bihar, Kerala. Apart from this, the quota of wheat has been reduced in Delhi, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. No change has been made in the quota of the remaining 25 states.

Rice request consideration
If a state wants to take more rice under the NFSA scheme, then its proposal can be considered by the central government and rice can be allotted only after consideration.
