Commonwealth Games gold medalist PV Sindhu is not a part of the 36th National Games being held in Ahmedabad. She is recovering from injury. However, the Indian legend was in Gujarat on Thursday (September 29) to be a part of the opening ceremony of the National Games held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Apart from attending the opening ceremony, Sindhu also participated in Navratri celebrations.
Sindhu was seen doing garba there. He was accompanied by former shuttler Trupti Murgunde and former athlete Anju Bobby George. A day before Sindhu, India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra also performed Garba. Sindhu also shared a video. He wrote in the caption – When in Ahmedabad during Navratri, then dance.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) also shared a video of PV Sindhu’s garba on its official Twitter handle. Sai captioned the picture and wrote – It is Garba night for PV Sindhu. Sindhu was seen performing garba amid Navratri celebrations in Ahmedabad. He got the support of Anju Bobby George and Trupti Murgunde.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the start of the 36th National Games on Thursday, 29 September. The Games will be held from September 29 to October 10. On the importance of National Games anthem and mascot, PM Narendra Modi said, “The anthem of National Games is Judega India, Jeetega India. The official mascot of the 36th National Games is Savaj. It is inspired by the lions of Gir. It represents the strength, grit and determination of our athletes.”
